A little craft project

So JD and I made a spring door wreath out of egg cartons! I saw it on Pinterest, of course. I had a bunch of egg cartons that I felt like I could do something crafty with. This is what I had in mind when I started:

However, we got started and it turned out totally different in the end!

The beginning...

It was a huge mess!

JD painted all the leaves and a few of the flowers too!

 Originally I was going to use cardboard, that I had cut into a ring, as the base part of the wreath. However, when I started putting the flowers on the cardboard I thought it look terrible.

 I remembered this picture frame I got at a second hand store for less than $1!

 So I sanded it down a bunch and then glued the flowers and some ribbon on it.

 Totally different that what I had planned but it works and JD and I had a fun time making it!

Oregon/Washignton tirp Feb 2013

We had a fun trip to Oregon and Washington last week.

We left Wednesday morning and since Pendleton is a great half way stop, we stayed the night there with Jesse's cousin's family. We had a lot of fun that night hanging out with family and playing Wits and Wagers (awesome game!). 

On Friday we met up with the Beckham family! JD LOVED playing with their 5 kiddos.

Saturday we went to Jesse's old roommates wedding.

SNOW January 2013

Yesterday it snowed. All day. Jesse didn't get home from work until after dark but he really wanted to take JD out to play. So they played by the porch light.

Boise is not used to the snow sticking around this long!

I didn't take the time to get a real ruler and just used one from my art class in High School. But it was almost good 4 inches.

They wanted to make a snowman but the snow was to dry to stick together. So they made snow angles instead.

What a cute kid!
