Grandpa Hendricks 4/21/1910-8/24/2009

This picture was in my very first blog, and today I have to post it again. My Grandpa passed away this morning. My dad's dad. Peacefully. In his sleep. He had 99 years on him and was just ready to go and see Jesus. My Aunt Grace was there. The nurses had been in about an hour earlier. They asked him how he felt. He said he felt good. Then at 8:20 am Aunt Grace went to wake him up and he would not wake up, she got the nurses and they told her they thought he was gone. (He was in a nursing home.)
Grandpa was ready to go. Death is a part of living. Everyone dies, yet death is still so hard. It is comforting to know he is in Heaven with Jesus, Grandma, many friends, grandchildren, siblings, and lots of other people he knew.

J.D. and Macey

One of my best friends had a little girl. Her name is Macey. J.D. was sleeping and woke up when we laid him down next to her. They are 2 months apart. In this picture he is about 3 months and Macey is 1 month.

Cheesecake

I made a cheesecake! We put frozen strawberry jam on it. YUM!

Cooking

I'm not a big baking/cooking person. I like to do it, but, my husband does not eat food (ok he does eat food but he only likes what he is used to), so I don't like to cook if he wont eat it. However, we received a "Four Ingredient Cook Book" for a wedding present and I have decided to make everything in this cookbook. Even if it takes me a decade I am determined to do this.
Here is the first thing in the cook book:

Cottage Cheese Dip
1. 1 Carton (24 oz.) Cottage Cheese
2. 1 Envelope Herb-Ox Dry Broth Mix
(this was hard to find, I ended up just using a spoonful from a jar not envelope)
3. 1/3 Cup Milk

Blend all ingredients, chill and serve with chips or fresh vegetables.

(I put some herbs on the top to make it look good. lol)

Hawks baseball game

Phil Whitford and his girlfriend Monica came a stayed with us for a few days.
Brian has passes to the Hawks game so we all went to a game.
